Overview of iPhone 15 Pro

Body Design

All iPhones this year have a slightly curved design that doesn’t dig into the hand, unlike last year’s boxy edges, and the Pro iPhones replace the alert switch with a new and programmable “Action Button.” The iPhone 15 Pro, like its bigger brother, sports a titanium alloy build, making it lighter while also being stronger than the iPhone 14 Pro.

The display hasn’t changed all that much. On paper, it is also identical to the iPhone 14 Pro from the previous year. A 6.1-inch “Super Retina XDR” OLED display with 120Hz ProMotion and 2,000 nits of brightness is what you’re seeing. The LTPO screen may switch between 1Hz and 120Hz as required.

Performance

The new A17 Pro processor will be used in the iPhone 15 Pro. Apple has now restricted newer chipsets to its “Pro” iPhones for the past two years.

The less expensive iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus don’t have as much power as the 15 Pro. Apple claims that the GPU performance of its 3nm-based chipset is 20% higher than that of the A16 Bionic. The neural engine is also twice as quick. Overall, it appears that the new chip outperforms the old one by 10%. A USB 3 controller that is required for better USB-C charging and transfer speeds is also built into the A17 Pro.

Camera

The 48MP primary, 12MP ultrawide, and 12MP telephoto lenses are all carryovers from last year’s models. True depth sensor and a 12MP selfie camera are both found on the front of the device.

But we also need to remember the software. Capturing depth data while shooting photos allows you to later add and fine-tune portrait blur, which is a cool function. While that’s fantastic, it’s not just available on 15 Pro models.

Rest of the specs

On all new iPhones, the outdated Lighting port has finally been replaced with USB-C. As I already mentioned, compared to the 15 and 15 Plus (USB 2.0 speeds), the Pro models have greater USB-3 rates (up to 10 gigabits per second). You receive WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-frequency GPS, and NFC for wireless connections. The second-generation UWB chip may improve Ultra-Wideband (UWB) connections.
