Design & Display

The Realme 9i 5G has a shiny, glittery design with its “Laser Light Design” that is inspired by CD (compact disc). It is made of polycarbonate, and the top left of the rear features a flash and three camera circles.

The volume buttons are on the left, while the 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone, USB-C port, and speaker are on the bottom side. Sadly, it just has one speaker, as opposed to the stereo speakers in the 4G version.

On the front, there is a 6.6-inch LCD panel that refreshes at 90Hz and has a 180Hz touch sampling rate. Contrary to the punch-hole cutout on every other 9-series smartphone, the 9i 5G houses a water-drop style notch to house the selfie camera.

Performance

A MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G processor powers the Realme 9i 5G. It’s a 6nm SoC that, as per Realme, reduces power consumption by 20%. Likewise, it’s paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Moving onto its camera feature, it gets a triple camera setup at its back where the main camera gets 50MP with f/1.8 aperture and the secondary camera gets 2MP of a depth sensor.
